- Multiple reports say there were two explosions near the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, that killed at least 13 people. One explosion detonated outside the airport and another at a nearby hotel that was used to ferry Americans to the airport. Both are reportedly suicide attacks. Fox News is reporting at least three U.S. troops are injured. Social media posts show many bloody and injured people near the airport.
- Nearly everyone in California could be required to prove they’re fully vaccinated before entering restaurants, bars, movie theaters, gyms, hotels, stadiums and other indoor establishments under a draft of a proposed new law. The proposal, by Assembly members Buffy Wicks, D-Oakland, Akilah Weber, D-San Diego, and Evan Low, D-Campbell, hasn’t yet been introduced in the Legislature. The Sacramento Bee obtained a copy of the draft.
- Cal/OSHA is urging workers to wear their masks indoors. Yesterday officials encouraged employees to follow the state's public health recommendation to wear masks indoors regardless of vaccination status. It is not an official mandate, but Cal/OSHA is aligning with health guidance from the state's Department of Public Health. Unvaccinated workers are still required to wear masks at all times when indoors based on the guidelines Cal/OSHA approved in June.
