- Following Monday's ruling from a Federal judge saying that masking on public transit should not be extended, many local organizations are choosing to follow suit. Policies are quickly changing among local agencies, like on Sac RT and at the Sacramento International Airport where masks are now optional.
- American firefighters - and firefighters from other countries - who have no connection to Ukraine other than their humanity, are there to help the overworked and overwhelmed Ukrainian firefighters. A group of firefighters from California are working with the non-profit Project Joint Guardian on the frontlines of the destruction in Ukraine.
- A bill that would track transient parolees -- known as the Kate Tibbits Act of 2022 -- did not pass in a committee vote. Elk Grove Assemblymember Jim Cooper said AB 1827 would have made all high-risk transients wear a location tracking device until they have a set address. Those against the bill said there is a lack of funding for GPS monitoring.
- The identity is now known of the suspect in a massive fire that destroyed a Home Depot in San Jose earlier this month. Dyllin Gogue is accused of starting the blaze at the store on Blossom Hill Road then trying to leave with a cart full of stolen items.
