Leads:
- Vice President Harris is campaigning on behalf of Governor Gavin Newsom in the California recall election. The former California Senator held a rally in San Leandro ahead of President Biden's visit to the state over the next few days. Obama is also pledging his support for the Governor ahead of the September 14th election.
- This morning an estimated four dozen Sacramento residents are trapped in Afghanistan and are desperately trying to get out... Including young school children. Three of those children are students at Ethel I. Baker Elementary School. Nate McGill is the school's principle. He says the young students and their parents are moving frequently to hide from the Taliban.
- The fallout continues this morning in the wake of the murder of Mary Tibbits. The 61 year old woman was killed in her land park home in Sacramento. Police have arrested a repeat felon who was released from prison early for her murder. Tibbit's family and friends called her Kate. Her brother George read an emotional statement at the home where she was killed.
