  1. The mask mandate at California public schools put into place by Governor Newsom expires today. Two weeks ago, state health officials said masks would no longer be mandatory in schools and childcare facilities -- and this weekend, those mandates were officially lifted.
  2. The National Weather Service report this morning a quarter to half-an-inch of rain is expected today and tomorrow North of Sacramento. According to official reports, light showers are to be expected, generally north of Red Bluff, Saturday night into Sunday morning.
  3. Enrollment in several Northern California school districts fell,m in some cases sharply, during COVID-19. Recent figures show Sacramento City Unified, San Juan Unified, Elk Grove Unified and Twin Rivers Unified each saw enrollment declines between 1.5-2% year to year since 2020, which is much more than seen before the pandemic.
