Davis To Open New Park Honoring Fallen Police Officer Natalie Corona

Next Saturday August 16th, 2025 will be the grand opening for a new water feature in the City of Davis. "Natalie’s Corner" is a Central Park improvement project honoring slain Davis Police Officer Natalie Corona, who died in the line of duty while responding to a domestic violence call. Natalie's Corner is a fully accessible splash pad serving as the project’s centerpiece, with 18 different interactive water features. In addition to that, Natalie's corner will also feature public art, revamped picnic areas and bench seating, shade structures, pollinator gardens, drought-tolerant landscaping and a renovated, water-efficient lawn, according to the Davis Enterprise Record. The project is funded by a $2.8 million grant provided by the Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Grant Program.
