  1. California Supreme Court Justice Leondra Kruger could be on President Biden's nomination list for the Supreme Court. Kruger has served as acting Solicitor General. She has argued 12 cases before the Supreme Court, was also a law clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals, and for Associate Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens. Kruger is a Los Angeles native, Harvard alum, and a graduate of Yale Law School.
  2. The Sacramento Unified School District says the deadline has been extended until the end of February so students can have more time to report their status. A school district letter sent to families said around 55% of students reported their vaccination status, and more than 27,000 are choosing to get tested for COVID. 
  3. A restraining order has been slapped on California Department of Correction and Rehabilitation officials to stop them from speeding up the early release prisoners.
  4. The American River Parkway Foundation (ARPF) submitted a letter to Sacramento County and City of Sacramento demanding that they take action to address the growing concern of illegal camping on the American River Parkway.
